BLUE
HOSE WOMEN'S AND MEN'S TEAMS FINISH 9TH IN 15TH ANNUAL FRANCIS
MARION UNIVERSITY INVITATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY MEET
FLORENCE, SC — Presbyterian College women's and men's cross country teams ran hard Saturday and each finished ninth in this years FMU Invitational meet.
In the women race the Blue Hose were lead once again by junior Tanith Forrester and sophomore Kate Whipple who finished 13 and 30 respectively. Forrester finished the race with a time of 20:55.90 with Whipple two minutes behind her with a time of 22:08.80.
In the men's race senior Jack Carmody lead PC finishing tenth with a time of 28:24.90. Finishing behind Carmody for the Blue Hose was senior Drew Brannon who was 25th overall and ran a time of 29:56.25.
Clayton State won both overall competition for the men and women with three runners placing in the top five for the women and four top five finishers for the men's race. The women were lead by Heather Krehbiel who finished the race one second ahead of her teammate with a time of 19:52.60. The winner of the men's race was Tony Jaurez from Clayton State who posted a time of 26:34.60.
Both men's and women's cross country teams will be back in action this coming Saturday October 5 here at Presbyterian College for the 3rd Annual Presbyterian College Invitational. The women's race begins at 8:45 a.m. with the men starting at 9:00 a.m.
