PRESBYTERIAN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS
FINISH 5TH AT ERSKINE INVITATIONAL

DUE WEST, S.C.---Presbyterian's men's and women's cross country teams finished 5th at the Erskine Invitational Thursday afternoon. South Atlantic Conference opponent Carson-Newman College swept both the men’s and women’s races.

The Presbyterian College men had 174 points to finish 5th in the five mile race. The Blue Hose were led by freshman Thad Palmer (Union, S.C.), who finished 13th individually with a time of 29:03.64. Finishing 29th, and 30th for PC was freshman Nate Price (Atlanta, Ga.), and junior Luke Faulkenberry (Laurinburg, NC). Winning the men's race was Carson Newman which had 54 points. Wingate was second, while Francis Marion finished third.

Ryan Plexico of Francis Marion won the race with a time of 27:15, while teammate Ezekiel Koech finished second, 20 seconds behind. Eric Malkowski of Carson Newman finished third.

In the women`s 3.1 mile race, Presbyterian College finished 5th with 129 points. Leading the Lady Blue Hose was senior Tanith Forrester (Lexington, S.C.) finishing in 10th place with a time of 20:23.59. Freshman Christina Deyoe (Palm Coast, Fl) finished 16th with a time of 21:00.47, and junior Kate Whipple (Columbia, S.C.) came in 17th place with a time of 21:04.26 to round out the top three finishers for PC. Carson-Newman College won the team title with 80 points, while Lander University finished second, and Georgia College & State University finished third.

Jennifer Sauceman of Carson-Newman won the race with a time of 19:15, while teammate Margaux Cowan-Banker finished second. Wingate sophomore Natalie Creech (Pennington Gap, Va.) finished third with a personal-best time of 19:34.
