PC MEN FINISH SECOND AND WOMEN FINISH THIRD AT THE 13TH ANNUAL LANDER/CONNIE MAXWELL INVITATIONAL

GREENWOOD, SC  The Blue Hose men's cross country team finished second and the women's squad finished third at Saturday's 13th Annual Lander/Connie Maxwell Invitational Saturday.

Anderson College won the women's title with a low 56 points, followed by 2. Lander 70, 3. Presbyterian 75, 4. USC Spartanburg 121, 5. Spartanburg Methodist 140, 6. Erskine 141, 7. Converse 149, 8. USC Aiken 165, 9. Southern Wesleyan 179, 10. Augusta State 259, 11. Newberry 325.

The top five individuals were: 1. Jessica Martin, Erskine, 20:40; 2. Tanith Forrester, Presbyterian, 20:48; 3. Kacey Harold, Anderson, 20:51; 4. Ashley Smoak, Anderson, 20:53; and 5. Tina DeYoe, Presbyterian, 21:00.

In the men's race, Spartanburg Methodist placed four runners in the top 10 to claim the team title with a low 31 points. Spartanburg Methodist was followed by 2. Presbyterian 87, 3. Southern Wesleyan 112, 4. Erskine 120, 5. Anderson 133, 6. Newberry 161, 7. Limestone 178.
