WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY PLACES SECOND AT FRANCIS MARION INVITATIONAL  

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s cross-country team came in second at the 17th Annual Francis Marion University Women’s Cross Country Invitational Meet on Saturday morning with 55 points in the six-team field.

Lander University took home the women’s team title with a low score of 28 points as the Bearcats had five runners place in the Top 15.  Lander’s Ivana Petrovic claimed the individual title with her time of 19:28.67 on the 5,000-meter course.

Leading the Lady Blue Hose was junior Kari Koch (Conyers, Ga.) who finished fifth in 21:12.53.  Junior Tina DeYoe (Palm Coast, Fla.) placed seventh in 21:23.45.  Seniors Amanda Garvin (Lilburn, Ga.) and Ashley Harris (West Columbia, S.C.) took 12th (22:25.69) and 13th (22:42.57), respectively.

The Lady Blue Hose will return to action on Friday, September 30 when PC hosts the Blue Hose Meet in Clinton, S.C.  The meet is scheduled to start at 4:00.
