Saturday, September 23, 2006 Lady Blue Hose Take Third at Limestone Invitational GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s cross country team ran the 5K course at the Limestone College Invitational held at the Sunny Slope Farm on Saturday morning, coming in third place out of 12 teams with 104 points as sophomore Lauren Bowers (Rock Hill, S.C.) and freshman Kristi Tempel (Aiken, S.C.) finished in the Top 15 for the Blue Hose. Bowers placed fourth in the race with her time of 21:05. It is the second time this season that Bowers has finished fourth for Presbyterian. Tempel came in 14th place as she recorded a time of 21:45. The next top finisher for PC was senior Kathryn Gregory (Buffalo, S.C.), as Gregory took 21st in 22:07. Senior Tina DeYoe (Palm Coast, Fla.) was 24th with her run of 22:22, while freshman Melissa Whitener (Gainesville, Ga.) ran the course in 23:35 for 41st-place. Sophomore Morgan Bennight (Charlotte, N.C.) ran the course in 23:57 for 44th-place and junior Ashley Kieffer (Thomasville, Ga.) came in 49th in 24:20. Senior Chris Roberts (Cornelius, N.C.) posted a time of 24:51 to claim 58th. Senior Kari Koch (Conyers, Ga.) ran a 26:07.03 to finish 72nd, while freshman Ali Carney (North Syracuse, N.Y.) was 79th in 26:38. UNC Pembroke captured the team title with a low 58 points as Ivy Ramsey and Katerina Matousova finished first and second for Pembroke. Ramsey claimed the individual title with her time of 20:07. Presbyterian will back in action Friday, Oct. 6 as PC hosts the Blue Hose Invitational in Clinton, S.C. The men’s race will begin at 4 p.m. followed by the women at 4:45 p.m. |
