Cometto Finishes In 10th At Anderson University Invite

Final Results

ANDERSON, S.C. – Presbyterian’s women’s golf team carded a second round cumulative total of 411 to finish the Anderson University Invitational at the par-72 Brookstone Meadows Golf Course in ninth place with a two-day total of 820.

The Blue Hose were led at the event by Kristin Cometto, who finished the event owning 10th place alone with a two round total of 162 after firing 81s both days.

USC Upstate claimed three of the top four individual positions at the tournament.

The Lady Spartans shot 313 in the second round to finish the 36-hole event with a total of 620, 32 shots better than second-place Tusculum (652). Wingate (663) was third, and host Anderson (668) was fourth.

Four of USC Upstate's players finished in the top six and all five finished in the top 17.

USC Upstate's 620 total set a tournament record at the par-72, 6,000-yard Brookstone course. The previous record was 633 by West Florida in '04.

Richia Wedzik of USC Upstate won the individual title. Wedzik shot a 78 in the final round for a 36-hole total of 153, one shot ahead of teammate Julie Miller (77-77). Beth Kirkham of Wingate (78-77) and Richelle Wedzik of USC Upstate (74-81) finished tied for fourth at 155. Katie Clayton of Limestone (78-78) was the final member of the all-tournament team.
