Cometto Tied For 11th At Anderson University Invite

First Round Results

ANDERSON, S.C. – Kristin Cometto shot an opening round 81 to finish tied for 11^th individually at the conclusion of the first round of the Anderson University Invite being held at the par 72 Brookstone Meadows Golf Course.

Presbyterian carded a first round cumulative total of 409 at the event to end the day in ninth place overall.

Individual leader Richelle Wedzik of USC Upstate shot a 2-over 74 in the first round to best by one stroke teammate Richia Wedzik, who is in second place with a 75.

Richelle Wedzik's first-round score was one shot off the first-round record for the event. Kristen Kyle of Catawba shot a 73 in the first round of the 2003 Invitational.

Upstate finished the first round with a team total of 307, 15 shots ahead of second-place Anderson (322), and 29 shots ahead of third-place Tusculum (336).

Wingate is fourth at 339, Mount Olive is fifth at 344, and Queens University of Charlotte is sixth at 348. Lincoln Memorial (355), Limestone (355), and Presbyterian (409) round out the field.

The second round of the event will commence on Tuesday morning.
