PC BLUE HOSE HAND LADY PACERS 4-0 LOSS

AIKEN, SC — Presbyterian's Delisa Smith and Jessi Adair combined for four goals as the Blue Hose (2-2-1) blanked the USC Aiken Lady Pacers (2-6-0) 4-0 in women's non-conference soccer Tuesday night in Aiken, SC. The shutout pushed the Lady Pacers scoreless streak to 227:17.

Smith opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after a nice pass from Kim Counts drew goalkeeper Shannon Hobbs out of the net allowing Smith to slide one into the open net.  In the 33rd minute of play, Smith struck again, this time scoring off a Jeanne Blackburn rebound to make it 2-0 at the half.

In control for much of the second half, Adair added a pair of unassisted insurance markers in the 83rd and 90th minutes.

For USC Aiken, Hobbs and Tiffany Thursby combined to record six saves.  PC launched 21 shots on goal, tripling the Lady Pacers total of seven.  In net for the Blue Hose, Aimee Tatom notched two saves in recording her first shutout of the season.

USC Aiken will next be in action on Thursday, September 20 when the Lady Pacers host Coker College at 7:00 PM.  Presbyterian will host Carson-Newman on Saturday, September 22 at 7:00 PM.
