PC BLUE HOSE HAND LADY PACERS 4-0 LOSS
AIKEN,
SC
Presbyterian's Delisa Smith and Jessi
Adair combined for four goals as the Blue Hose (2-2-1)
blanked the USC Aiken Lady Pacers (2-6-0) 4-0 in women's
non-conference soccer Tuesday night in Aiken, SC. The shutout
pushed the Lady Pacers scoreless streak to 227:17.
Smith
opened the scoring in the 22nd minute after a nice pass from Kim
Counts drew goalkeeper Shannon Hobbs out of the net allowing
Smith to slide one into the open net.
In the 33rd minute of play, Smith struck again, this time
scoring off a Jeanne Blackburn
rebound to make it 2-0 at the half.
In
control for much of the second half, Adair added a pair of
unassisted insurance markers in the 83rd and 90th minutes. For
USC Aiken, Hobbs and Tiffany Thursby combined to record six
saves. PC launched
21 shots on goal, tripling the Lady Pacers total of seven.
In net for the Blue Hose, Aimee
Tatom notched two saves in recording her first shutout of
the season. USC
Aiken will next be in action on Thursday, September 20 when the
Lady Pacers host Coker College at 7:00 PM.
Presbyterian will host Carson-Newman on Saturday,
September 22 at 7:00 PM. |
