COOKE NAMED TO CoSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT III WOMEN’S SOCCER
TEAM CLINTON,
S.C. — Presbyterian College women’s soccer player Ashley
Cooke has been named to the 2003 CoSIDA Academic
All-District III Women’s Soccer First Team announced today. Cooke, a 5-5 senior from
Roswell, Ga., is a four-year letterwinner for the Blue Hose from
her defender position. The former Roswell High School standout
is currently fourth on the team in total scoring with 10 points
on three goals and four assists. She is also tied for second on
the team in assists. Cooke has helped lead the Blue Hose defense
to allow only 14 goals on the season entering the week. The team
is tied with Carson-Newman College in league for fewest allowed
goals while also being tied for the lead in the SAC in shots on
goal allowed (58) with Tusculum College. Defensively, the team
is currently ninth in NCAA Division II in shutouts per game
(0.63). In the classroom, Cooke has
a 3.66 GPA as an Biology major.
She has been named to the school’s Dean’s List four
semesters and President’s List one semester, and the South
Atlantic Conference Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll three
times. Cooke is one of two
student-athletes from the South Atlantic Conference to be named
to either the first or second team. Julie
Dodds of Lenoir-Rhyne College was named to the second team. Cooke is a part of the
12-member All-District first team that will go on to the
national ballots for Academic All-American announced later this
year. |
