PC SUFFERS FIRST CONFERENCE LOSS TO CARSON-NEWMAN 3-2
IN WOMEN'S SOCCER ACTION
 

Clinton, S.C. — Presbyterian College women's soccer team loses first conference match to Carson-Newman Saturday night at Martin Stadium. The Blue Hose fall to (7-2-0) overall and (2-1-0) in the SAC, while the Eagles improve to (6-2-1) overall and (2-0-0) in the SAC. 

Carson-Newman scored early with sophomore forward Jennifer Bock (Stevensville, Mich.) scoring her first of two goals on the night. Freshman midfielder Claire Ramsdale (Birmingham, England) assisted Bock on the goal. The Eagles took the 1-0 lead into the half. 

Bock started the second half like the first scoring her second goal of night at the 70:23 mark. Then freshman midfielder Rebecca Angus (Middelsborough, England) added a goal to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead. 

The Blue Hose did respond with sophomore midfielder Megan Smith (Greenville, S.C.) scoring two late goals. However, PC's comeback attempt cAme up just short losing to the Eagles 3-2. 

Carson-Newman's sophomore goalkeeper Bernadette Haines (Gettysburg, PA) allowed two goals and added eight saves, while PC's senior goalkeeper Aimee Tatom (Irving, Tex.) gave up three goals and added four saves on the night. 

Presbyterian returns to action Tuesday, September 30 at home against Francis Marion University, while the Eagles return to play Tuesday, September 30 facing Mars Hill on the road.
