PC'S CLAIRE JOYCE AND MEGAN SMITH NAMED TO
 2004 FOOD LION/SAC WOMEN'S SOCCER ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

CLINTON, S.C. - Presbyterian College women's soccer players Claire Joyce and Megan Smith have been named to the 2004 Food Lion/South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer All-Tournament teams announced today by league officials.

Joyce, a 5-6 sophomore forward from Aiken, S.C., scored the team's lone goal in PC's 4-1 loss to top seed Tusculum College in the semifinals. In the opening round, Joyce scored the final goal of penalty kicks to lift the Blue Hose over #4 seed Newberry College. The Blue Hose and Indians tied 1-1 after double overtime, but PC advanced to the semifinals after winning 5-3 on penalty kicks.

Smith, a 5-7 junior midfielder from Greenville, S.C., scored PC's lone goal in regulation versus Newberry College before the match went to penalty kicks after double overtime. Smith was one of five Blue Hose players to make their penalty kicks versus the Indians with her goal putting PC ahead 4-3.

The Blue Hose finished the season with a 8-7-2 overall record and a 3-3-1 mark in the South Atlantic Conference, good for a fifth place finish.
