Presbyterian Blanks Anderson In Women’s Soccer, 4-0

ANDERSON, S.C. – Megan Smith scored two goals and had one assist to lead Presbyterian College to a 4-0 victory over Anderson College in a non-conference women’s match Tuesday night at Smethers Field.

Presbyterian, 3-5 overall, opened the scoring at 25:02 when Jennifer Merritt scored off a deflected pass from Smith.

Smith, a junior from Greenville, S.C., increased the Presbyterian lead to 2-0 55 seconds into the second half on a 12-yard shot. Smith scored her second goal at 80:54, and Missy Dorando closed out the scoring for the Blue Hose when she connected on a free kick at 84:55.

Presbyterian out shot Anderson, 28-5.

Lady Blue Hose goalkeeper Brittany Pecora made three saves to earn the shutout.

PC will be back in action Thursday as they host Erskine College for a 7:00 p.m. match.
