HALF GOALS LIFT PC CLINTON,
S.C. – Presbyterian College scored two goals in the second
half to overcome a 1-0 halftime deficit to come back and defeat
the Flying Fleet of Erskine College 2-1 in women’s soccer
action Thursday night at Martin Stadium. Sophomore Ashley
Owens (Rock Hill, S.C.) got Erskine (1-7-0) on the board
with a goal in the 29th minute. The Lady Blue
Hose (4-5-0) tied it up in the 49th minute when
sophomore Claire Joyce
(Aiken, S.C.) found junior Jennifer
Merritt (Easley, S.C.) on a breakaway for the tying
score. Joyce score
the game winner in the 56th minute with a header off
a cross from junior Kristen
Ryer (Lilburn, Ga.) The Lady Blue Hose will be back in action Monday afternoon as they host the University of North Florida in a 3:00 p.m. match. |
