LADY BLUE HOSE LOSE CLOSE ONE 
TO # 13 TUSCULUM

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Sophomore Becky Carreiro's (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) goal five minutes into the second half broke a 1-1 tie as the No. 13 Tusculum College women's soccer team rallied to defeat Presbyterian College 2-1 Saturday afternoon at Pioneer Field. 

Sophomore Ginny Wolfe (Lexington, S.C.) put Presbyterian up in the 10th minute with her second goal on the season. The teams battled for 30 minutes without a score before Pioneer junior Denise Fliesser (London, Ontario, Canada) headed in a corner kick from sophomore Ashley Moreira (London, Ontario, Canada) to knot the score at 1-1.

Carreiro's match-winner came 4:59 into the final period as she converted a pass from sophomore Amanda Linville (Cynthiana, Ky.). Tusculum dominated the final frame, outshooting the Blue Hose 9-1, but could only manage the one goal.

Junior Alyssa Alterman (Covington, La.) made one save in goal for the Pioneers, while her counterpart Brittany Pecora (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) had three saves for PC.

Tusculum (6-1-1, 2-0 SAC) returns to action on Wednesday traveling to Jefferson City, Tenn. to take on arch-rival No. 7 Carson-Newman College. Presbyterian (2-5, 1-3 SAC) also plays on the road, facing Anderson College on Tuesday.
