OSPREYS EDGE LADY BLUE HOSE 1-0 CLINTON, S.C. –
The University of North Florida broke a scoreless tie early in
the second half to walk away with a 1-0 victory over
Presbyterian College in women’s soccer action Monday afternoon
at Martin Stadium. After a scoreless
first half, junior defender Lauren Winn (Satellite Beach,
Fla.) found junior forward Ali Blochl (Melbourne Beach,
Fla.), who knocked a header past PC freshman goalie Brittany
Pecora (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) for the game’s only goal. The Lady Blue Hose had
a chance to tie it with just over a minute remaining, but Missy
Dorando’s (Fort Mill, S.C.) shot hit the post and
North Florida cleared the ball for the victory. The Lady Ospreys out
shot PC 15-4 as Pecora finished with four saves. Freshman goalie
Heather Gosselin (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) had two saves
for North Florida. PC will be back in action Saturday as they host South Atlantic Conference rival Wingate University in a 7:00 p.m. match at Martin Stadium. |
