HOSE WOMEN’S SOCCER POST 2-0 WIN OVER
BELMONT ABBEY
PC’s Brittany Pecora picks up second shutout of the
season with win over Lady Crusaders
CLINTON,
S.C. —
Presbyterian College freshman goalkeeper Brittany
Pecora collected five saves to lead the Blue Hose to a 2-0
shutout victory over the visiting Lady Crusaders of Belmont
Abbey College Tuesday night at Martin Stadium.
Pecora,
a native of Myrtle Beach, S.C., picked up her second shutout of
the season as the Blue Hose improved to 6-6-0 on the season
while the Lady Crusaders fell to 7-8-0.
PC
took a 1-0 lead at the 16:18 mark as sophomore forward Claire Joyce (Aiken, S.C.) scored off an assist from junior defender
Jennifer Merritt (Easley,
S.C.). Less than a minute into the second half, the Blue Hose
pushed the lead to 2-0 as junior midfielder Megan
Smith (Greenville, S.C.) scored off an assist from sophomore
midfielder Amanda Rossie (Lilburn, Ga.) at the 45:59 mark.
The
Blue Hose return to action on Saturday, October 16 as they
travel to Mars Hill, N.C. to take on Mars Hill College at 1:00
pm. The Lady Crusaders return to action on Wednesday, October 20
as they host Pfeiffer University at 4:00 pm.
