BLUE HOSE SHUTS OUT CONVERSE SPARTANBURG,
S.C. – Junior Megan Smith
(Greenville, S.C.) had two goals and an assist to lift
Presbyterian College to a 4-0 victory over Converse College in
women’s soccer action on Thursday afternoon. Sophomore Lindsay
Leffler (Rocky Mount, Va.)
got PC on the board in the 10th minute when she took
a corner kick from sophomore Amanda
Rossie (Lilburn, Ga.) and knocked it past the Converse
goalie for the 1-0 lead. In the second
half, Smith quickly made it 2-0 with a goal in the 50th
minute. Sophomore Claire Joyce
(Aiken, S.C.) had the assist. Just ten
minutes later, Joyce found Smith again to give PC the 3-0 lead. Freshman Lauren
Letien (Sumter, S.C.) rounded out the scoring with her
first collegiate goal in the 67th minute on an assist
from Smith. PC will be back in action on the road Tuesday in the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament against a yet to be determined opponent. |
