PC Snaps Five-Game Skid With Road Victory Over Clayton State

MORROW, Ga. – Lytle Cannon scored her second goal of the season to give Presbyterian a 1-0 victory over Clayton State on Monday evening.

The win snaps a five-game losing streak for the PC women’s soccer team and improves the squad to 4-6 on the 2006 campaign.

Cannon’s goal materialized when she placed a pass from Claire Joyce into the back of the net in the 27th-minute.

The Lakers would end the game with two more shots (15) than the Blue Hose (13), but the PC defense would hold strong to give Presbyterian its first win since Sept. 9.

Erin Sinkuler picked up the shutout for PC, finishing the game with seven saves. The clean sheet was the second 90-minute shutout of the season for Sinkuler, who also went the entire way unscathed on Sept. 9 in the South Atlantic Conference win over Lenoir-Rhyne.

The Blue Hose have Tuesday off before returning to the pitch again on Wednesday, Oct. 4 against future Big South league foe High Point in High Point, N.C. Kickoff in the match is set for 7 p.m.
