PC Releases 2007 Women’s Soccer Schedule

CLINTON, S.C. – Set to begin his 19th season at the helm of the Blue Hose women’s soccer program, Presbyterian College head coach Brian Purcell unveiled PC’s inaugural NCAA Division I schedule on Thursday. PC’s 2007 women’s soccer schedule will feature six home games.

“We are excited about the challenge of a predominantly NCAA Division I schedule,” remarked Purcell. “We look forward to seeing where we are in comparison to the teams that we will be facing, and what the areas are that we need to improve in as we go through the transition process over the next four years."

The Blue Hose will take on teams from the Atlantic Sun, the Big South, the South Atlantic Conference and the SoCon in the upcoming year,

PC opens its year with three road contests, beginning the regular season at 7 p.m. on Aug. 31 against Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Fla. The match is the first of two games in the Sunshine state for the Blue Hose to open the season as they will square off against Stetson at 1 p.m. on Sept. 2.

After 12 days off the Blue Hose return to action at 4 p.m. on Sept. 14 against the SoCon’s The Citadel in Charleston, S.C.

The Blue Hose will play the first of their six home dates against Lipscomb at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 16 at Martin Stadium.

The match with the Bisons is the first of two home games for the Blue Hose in the month of September as they will close out their first month of the 2007 campaign with a game against future Big South foe Liberty at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30 at Martin Stadium.

The Blue Hose will take on three teams in the month of October at Martin Stadium as Winthrop will visit PC’s Clinton campus on Oct. 6, while the SAC’s Lincoln Memorial will travel to Clinton to face PC on Oct. 10.

Presbyterian College will end its season with two home games. The Blue Hose will close the month of October with a 2 p.m. game against High Point at Martin Stadium on Oct. 28.

PC will then conclude their year with a game against Radford at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4. The match will be senior night.
