PRESBYTERIAN'S CATHERINE BANKHEAD NAMED SAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Catherine Bankhead of Presbyterian College has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week announced league officials Monday.

Bankhead, a junior from Amarillo, Texas, led the Lady Blue Hose to a 9-0 win over Lenoir-Rhyne College to finish SAC play undefeated.  For Presbyterian, it was its second straight SAC title and fifth since 2000.

Bankhead defeated L-R's Mary Hulet Kitterman 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and teamed with Abby Diminich to defeat Kate Meiners and Jennifer Binney 8-0 at No. 1 doubles.

The SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week is selected by a vote of the league's eight sports information directors.
