PRESBYTERIAN'S LAUREN BROWN NAMED
SAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Lauren Brown of Presbyterian College has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week announced league officials Tuesday. 

Brown, a junior from Gaffney, S.C., led PC to a pair of South Atlantic Conference road wins last week.  Presbyterian defeated Wingate and Catawba by identical 9-0 scores.

The Gaffney High School graduate did not surrender a game at No. 2 singles, defeating Wingate's Erika Gluckstal 6-0, 6-0 and Catawba's Julia McKinzie 6-0, 6-0.

In doubles, Brown and
Brittany Lanford (Florence, S.C.) defeated Wingate's duo of Gluckstal and Cameron Curlee 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.  Against Catawba, Brown and No. 3 partner Kathryn Kleckley  (Lexington, S.C.) defeated Nikiah Knox and Meri Cartmill 8-2.

The SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week is selected by a vote of the league's eight sports information directors.
