PRESBYTERIAN'S LISA MOYER NAMED SAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Lisa Moyer of Presbyterian College has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week announced league officials Tuesday.  This marks the second time this season she has earned this honor. 

Moyer, a junior from Florence, S.C. paced the Lady Blue Hose to a 3-1 mark last week, including a sweep of league opponents over the weekend to clinch a share of the 2006 South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Championship.  Presbyterian won a pair of matches over nationally ranked opponents, including a 5-4 win over No. 38 Tusculum College on Sunday.

Moyer defeated Melanie Kraql of No. 39 Limestone College in straight sets (6-2, 6-0) and teamed with No. 2 doubles partner
Brittany Lanford (Florence, S.C.) to defeat Lee Cribb and Jennifer Snaider, 8-1 as PC defeated the Saints 7-2.

In Presbyterian's 6-3 loss to No. 13 Francis Marion, Moyer defeated Elizabeth Lee 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.

In PC's 8-1 win over Carson-Newman College, Moyer and Lanford teamed at No. 2 doubles to defeat Kristi Kirkland and Emily Sorah, 8-1.

In the Tusculum match, Moyer won in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) over Bronwyn Hartley at No. 4 singles to clinch the deciding point of the match.

The SAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week is selected by a vote of the league's eight sports information directors.
