PRESBYTERIAN CAPTURES 2006 FOOD LION SAC
WOMEN’S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. The No. 23-ranked Presbyterian College Blue Hose claimed their second consecutive Food Lion South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Women's Tennis Tournament Championship as the Blue Hose defeated second-seeded Tusculum College 5-1 Saturday afternoon.

The win for the Blue Hose is their 12th tournament championship since 1990.  With the win, PC improves to 18-3 and clinches the conference’s automatic bid to the 2006 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis National Tournament.  Tusculum is now 17-7 on the season.

The Blue Hose took a 2-1 lead in doubles play, claiming wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions.  Juniors Lauren Brown (Gaffney, S.C.) and Lisa Moyer (Florence, S.C.) and sophomore Brittany Lanford (Florence, S.C.) won their singles competitions to claim a 5-1 win for their team.
