#32 LADY BLUE HOSE TOPS SLIPPERY ROCK IN
WOMEN’S TENNIS ACTION

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women’s tennis team extended their winning streak to two matches with an 8-1 defeat of Slippery Rock University at Templeton Tennis Center on Saturday morning.  The win improves the Lady Blue Hose’s record to 5-1 overall, while Slippery Rock drops to 5-2 on the year.

PC swept all three doubles matches with scores of 8-3 at No. 1, 8-1 at No. 2, and 8-1 at No. 3.  The only match point won by Slippery Rock came at No. 1 singles as freshman Kayla Blackburn (Alum Bank, Pa.) defeated junior Catherine Bankhead (Amarillo, Texas), 6-3, 6-3.

The Lady Blue Hose returns to action tomorrow when PC travels to Spartanburg, S.C., to face No. 11 USC Upstate, while Slippery Rock also plays tomorrow against UNC Pembroke down in Hilton Head at 10:00 a.m.
