Wins Doubles Point, But Falls 5-2 To B-C On Thursday
CLINTON, S.C. – No. 34 Presbyterian College’s women’s
tennis team fell 5-2 to Bethune-Cookman on Thursday
afternoon at the Templeton Tennis Courts.
The Lady Blue Hose and Wildcats began the event with the
Lady Blue Hose taking two of the three doubles matches to
give PC the doubles point.
After losing at No. 1 doubles, Presbyterian’s duo of Lauren
Brown and Brittany Lanford downed the B-C tandem of Lucia
Polakova and Valerie Kendrick, 8-4. PC’s Kari Fuller and
Lisa Moyer garnered the overall victory at doubles for PC
after they claimed a win at No. 3 doubles by the score of
8-6 over Bethune-Cookman’s Monika Musilova and Shaunda
Gaiter.
Bethune-Cookman took victories in the first five singles
flights before PC’s Kari Fuller earned Presbyterian’s only
singles win at No. 6 singles with an easy 6-0, 6-0 win over
B-C’s Jeneice Ward.
The Lady Blue Hose return to the courts tomorrow for a game
against Slippery Rock (Pa.) at the Templeton Tennis Courts.
The match is set to begin at 12 noon.
