Brackets Announced For 2007 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament

ROCK HILL, SC - Presbyterian College, which went undefeated in conference play, received the No. 1 seed in next week's Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament, where they will attempt to win their third consecutive tournament championship.

Presbyterian College (7-0 SAC, 11-5) is ranked 28th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Fila rankings. The Blue Hose will host eighth-seed Lenoir-Rhyne (0-7, 4-11) in a quarterfinal match on Tuesday.

Newberry College (6-1 SAC, 9-6), finished second in the league, their highest finish in conference history. The Lady Indians will host seventh-seed Wingate (1-6, 3-17) on Tuesday in a quarterfinal match.

Tusculum College and Mars Hill College tied for third place in the league standings. Tusculum earned the third seed by virtue of its 4-3 regular-season win over Mars Hill.

Tusculum (4-3, 13-5) will host sixth-seed Catawba (3-4, 13-11) at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Mars Hill (4-3, 15-5) will host fifth-seed Carson-Newman (3-4, 7-8) on Tuesday in the other quarterfinal match.

The semifinals and finals will be held at Tusculum College on Saturday, April 21.

The semifinals will begin at 9 a.m., with the semifinal winners meeting for the tournament championship at 2:30 p.m.

The tournament winner will receive an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Tournament.
