                         No. 20 PC Falls To No. 12 USC Upstate

CLINTON, S.C. – No. 20 Presbyterian College fell 7-2 to No. 12 USC Upstate on Friday afternoon at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

Presbyterian won one match in both singles and doubles.

The Lady Blue Hose tallied its first win at No. 3 doubles with the tandem of Brittany Lanford (Florence, S.C.) and Lisa Moyer (Florence, S.C.).

Lanford and Moyer defeated the Spartans’ duo of Diana Martinez and Maria Herrera, 8-6.

USC Upstate claimed the first five singles matches before PC’s Virginia Waldron (Mountville, S.C.) garnered Presbyterian’s first singles victory of the afternoon at No. 6 singles. Waldron downed USC Upstate’s Constanza Aranda 6-2, 6-0 to win the contest.

Presbyterian (6-5, 3-0 SAC) travels to Mars Hill tomorrow looking to improve to 4-0 in South Atlantic Conference play. The Lady Blue Hose and Lions will tangle beginning at 1 p.m.

The squad returns to the Templeton Courts one day later for a match against North Georgia at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 25.
