Combs Named To SCBL All-Star
Game
CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College baseball player
Jared Combs has bounced back strongly from the hand injury
that sidelined him from most of the 2007 season this summer,
making the Southern Collegiate Baseball League’s All-Star
team as a member of the Tennessee Tornados who are based in
Johnson City, Tenn.

Elton Pollock announced the hiring of Charles Assey as an
assistant coach on Tuesday. Assey comes to PC after a
successful stint at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas
where he served as a graduate assistant baseball coach and
as the head strength and conditioning coach.

CLINTON, S.C.- The Presbyterian baseball team wrapped up
league play with a 14-5 victory over Wingate on a blistery
Sunday afternoon at the PC Baseball Complex. With the win
the Blue Hose claimed their first South Atlantic Conference
series of the season, improving to 18-35 overall and 7-17 in
conference play. After the loss the Bulldogs fall to 21-28

Baseball Signs Three During Early Signing Period
CLINTON, S.C. –
Presbyterian head baseball coach Elton Pollock
recently announced that the Blue Hose baseball team
signed three student-athletes to national letters of
intent during the early signing period. Alex Downing
comes to the Presbyterian program from Carolina
Forest High School in the Myrtle Beach area, while
Andrew Wingo and Nathan Horton both attended high
school in the Upstate. Wingo played for coach Todd
Robinson at Mauldin High School and Horton played at
Byrnes High School for Chris Carter.

Welcomes Three Transfers To Its Roster
CLINTON, S.C. –
Presbyterian head baseball coach Elton Pollock recently
announced that the Blue Hose baseball team will welcome
three transfers to its squad, with two of the three
transfers joining the school’s baseball program from NCAA
Division I institutions and the other being a proven NCAA
Division II baseball player. Joining the Blue Hose for the
2007 season are Mitchell Odom (University of
Georgia), Bobby Holmes (Virginia Commonwealth) and
Jared Combs (Armstrong Atlantic State).
