CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian
College Director of Athletics Dr. William B. “Bee” Carlton
announced the hiring of Thad Palmer as PC’s new men’s and
women’s cross country coach on Monday.

Blue Hose Men’s Cross Country Takes 12th at NCAA
Regionals
WINGATE, N.C. –
Presbyterian College concluded its 2006 men’s
cross country season on Saturday morning at the
NCAA Division II Southeast Regional hosted by
Wingate University. The Blue Hose bested their
team finish from a year ago by one spot as
Presbyterian claimed the 12th spot in
the 16-team field with 301 points.

Blue Hose
Harriers Compete at SAC Championships
BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. –
The Presbyterian College cross country teams
made the trek to Black Mountain Recreation Park
in N.C. to compete in the 2006 Food Lion South
Atlantic Conference Championships.
The Blue Hose finished fifth with 137 points and
one Top 10 finisher. The women had a
disappointing finish, coming in eighth in the
team standings with 183 points.

Harriers Take Second and Third at Erskine
Invitational
DUE
WEST, S.C. –
The Presbyterian College cross country teams
finished the regular season with a strong outing
at the Erskine College Invitational on Thursday
afternoon. The men tied for second with host
Erskine with 93 points as the Blue Hose had a
pair of Top 15 finishes. The Lady Blue Hose
finished third with 100 points and a pair of Top
20 placements.

SAC Runner of the Week Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. –
Presbyterian College’s Matthew Elliott was named
the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Men’s Runner
of the Week, conference officials announced
today. This is the first time this season that
Elliott has won the award, but the third time in
his career.

2006 Blue Hose Invitational
Limestone’s Clausing Comes in First
CLINTON, S.C. –
The Spartanburg Methodist College men’s cross
country squad claimed the Sixth Annual Blue Hose
Invitational with a low 66 points on Friday
afternoon as the Pioneers had four runners
finish in the Top 20. Brent Clausing of
Limestone College took individual honors as
Clausing ran the 8K course in 26:09.31, thirty
seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

Take Second at Limestone Invitational
GAFFNEY, S.C. –
The Presbyterian College men’s cross country
team ran the 8K course at the Limestone College
Invitational held at the Sunny Slope Farm on
Saturday morning, coming in second place out of
eight teams with 67 points as three Blue Hose
harriers finished in the Top 15 for the Blue
Hose.

Impressive at Asics Winthrop Invitational
Both Squads Finish Second
ROCK HILL, S.C. –
The Presbyterian College cross country teams had stellar
outings at the Asics Winthrop Invitational with both squads
finishing second at the event. The men were second with 65
points and three Top 10 finishes, while the Lady Blue Hose
came in as runner-ups with 88 points and a pair of Top 15
placements.

Eye Opener
Blue Hose Men Finish 8th
out of 22 Teams
SPARTANBURG, S.C. –
Senior Matt Elliott (Green Sea, S.C.) came in 11th
out of 172 Division II runners and led the
Presbyterian College men’s cross country team to
an eighth-place finish with 244 points on
Saturday morning at the 23rd Annual
Eye Opener Meet at the Milliken Research
Center. At the same meet, the Lady Blue Hose
placed in the middle of the pack, as PC took 13th
out of 24 squads with 339 points.

GREENWOOD, S.C. –
Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams
had successful outings at the 16th
Annual Lander University/Connie Maxwell
Invitational on Saturday morning. The men
finished second out of seven and the women came
in third out of nine teams.
