The Blue Hose football team is about to experience a very good change. After being away for seven years, Coach Tommy Spangler will return to PC on March 1st as our new defensive coordinator. When he began his work with the Blue Hose in 1997, he was the defensive coordinator. He continued to coach defense in 2001 when he took the reins and assumed the role of head coach. As a head coach, he accomplished many things including a South Atlantic Conference title and the best winning percentage of any coach in PC football history. Coach Spangler is regarded as one of college football’s best defensive coaches and recently was a finalist for the Broyles Award for the top assistant coach of the year.
The smell of freshly mown grass on a beautiful day is fantastic as the sun warms your skin. Nine players take the field and the first batter walks to the plate. Play ball! This is my idea of a perfect day.
Now, ladies and gentleman, is the time to start an experiment. Far be it from me to suggest that the nutritional needs and/or wants of ours aren’t met here on campus, but if a little doubt lingers in your mind, perhaps it is time to supplement with a little bit of dorm cooking. This series, Mastering the Art of [Dorm] Cooking, will be a collaboration between you guys, the readers, and me. Think of it as a “Dear Abbie” column, at least, so far as food preparation is concerned. The vision is to figure out cost effective, easy ways to produce quality food that can be created either within the individual dorm rooms or in one of the several kitchens made available to us on campus. We would love to work with you all and learn the tricks of the trade that you have, no doubt, picked up while on campus. Professors, this means you guys too. If you would like to share some of your favorite recipes and work with the Blue Stocking staff do not shy away, but rather, contact us. If anyone, professors or students, have any recipes you would enjoy sharing, please let us know in the comment section at the bottom and we will take a look at it!

MLK weekend did not stop the turnout at the Saturday night basketball game. Many students, parents, and faculty attended the PC v Liberty game. Going into the game, expectations were high. The PC men had yet to win a Big South Conference game, while Liberty had won one out of four.
1. It’s late. You’re hungry: Waffle House or McDonalds.
Definitely Waffle House. If any one chooses McDonald’s over Waffle House they don’t know how to live with them selves. Waffle House is way classier.
How can the external temperature fuel one’s desire to run inside a building? After contemplating this conundrum, the true reason for the rise in gym attendance came to mind, the Mayans
