The Accounting Club
by Sarah Tollison, PC Class of 2010
The Accounting Club at Presbyterian College was started by a group of students to inform peers about the accounting field through speakers. Professionals come to talk about how they chose accounting, their career path, and how they have used the accounting they learned in the classroom. Past speakers have worked at a wide variety of places such as the South Carolina Department of Revenue, the Big 4 accounting firm KPMG, and the American Heart Association. The Accounting Club is also a great way to connect entry-level accounting students that might need help with students majoring in accounting. It allows those students to get the extra help they need.
It’s also very easy to get involved with the Accounting Club. Officer positions are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Social Chairman, and Senator. We kick off the school year with a pizza party, have monthly meetings, and end with a cookout. If you enjoy learning about accounting careers and opportunities, we hope that you will join the Accounting Club!
Officers for 2011-2012 are:
President: Thomas Palma
VP: Justin Rice
Treasurer:Robert Butler
