Senior Recognitions and Awards

The Senior Achievements Award is a way to recognize top students who demonstrate excellent leadership and involvement with various campus organizations and societies. Seniors who are interested in applying should complete a Student Activities and Involvement Form.  All students who receive this award will be nominated for the National Who’s Who Award. (Who’s Who nominees are included in an annual, national “student profile” book. At the national level, ten of the nominated students are chosen annually to receive $1000 scholarships for graduate school.) The nomination deadline for this award is October 17, 2014.

The Joseph O. Nixon Leadership Award is presented to the graduating senior who, over the course of his/her PC education, has demonstrated superior qualities of leadership on behalf of the college community. The nomination deadline for this award will be announced in Spring 2015.

The Outstanding Senior Award is presented to the senior who, by his/her conduct and character, physical fitness and mental ability, most nearly approximates the institution’s ideals. This student will present the Arts & Sciences graduation address. The nomination deadline for this award will be announced in Spring 2015.

The American Legion Awards are annually presented each year to both a female and a male senior in recognition of unusually high qualities of honor, courage, scholarship, leadership and service. This award is affiliated with The Legion’s Department of South Carolina. The nomination deadline for this award will be announced in Spring 2015.

The Dedicated Service and Spirit Award, presented annually by Campus Life, recognizes a currently enrolled senior who has exemplified a four-year commitment to improving the quality of life at PC through involvement with campus service and social activities.
