The intentional Christian living community,or the Nest, at PC is found in Reynolds Hall, the old infirmary turned dormitory next to Greenville Dining Hall on East Campus.
Any and all students in their second year or above at PC are invited to live in and engage with this residential community as we aspire to work jointly with Religious Life in harvesting a nurturing spiritual environment for the entire college community.
The Nest is not an escape from the real world, but rather a venture into it, as we tackle together the challenges that come with being a college student on campus and a young adult in society. We seek to develop identities deeply rooted in our Christian beliefs and explore the conventions of the Christian faith to become more intimate with our individual faiths.
The 2015-2016 covenant for the residents of the Nest is as follows:
Our purpose as an Intentional Christian Community is to live with people of different faith perspectives so that we may learn from one another and embody hospitality in our daily lives.
- Be intentional about creating relationships.
- Be thoughtful and respectful of others.
- Listen and ask questions.
- Participate in weekly Nest gatherings.
- Keep communal space clean.
- Use resources thoughtfully.
- Embody Christian hospitality.
