Kappa Alpha began in 1865 at Washington College (now Washington & Lee College) in Lexington, Va. Robert Edward Lee, best known for commandeering Confederate troops during America’s Civil War, is Kappa Alpha’s spiritual founder, and the brothers of Kappa Alpha Order adhere to both the teachings of and ideals espoused by General Lee.

The Beta Pi Chapter was chartered at Presbyterian College in 1924 by six distinguished gentlemen: Bailey, Mason, Knowles, Robinson, Player, and Bomar.  The brother of Beta Pi seek to create a lifetime experience with one another, which centers on reverence to God, Duty, Honor, Character, and Gentlemanly conduct
