Student fashions internship in New York City

Janna Cone, Business Administration Major, Class of 2009

Janna says that everyday working at Vera Wang in New York City was different.

"My internship was focused in the sales department at the corporate headquarters of Vera Wang, although I had the opportunity to learn, work in, and witness many other facets of the corporation such as design and production," Janna said. "It was an incredible experience in which I learned such invaluable information that will surely help me in the future."

Janna worked through and witnessed the whole "market" process. She saw clothing for Spring '08 from the rough design stages, in Fashion Week, throughout market and Coterie and finally into the production process.  Overall, she says many interesting opportunites and events took place throughout her internship, ones that taught her much about the fashion industry.

"
My internship with Vera Wang gave me insight into the industry that I would have never grasped in the work place without this opportunity," Janna said. "Because of this internship, I have made some extrordinary contacts and learned exactly what it is I would like to do in the future as a career."
