Internship provides sales skills

Kate Morgan ’09, Business Management
Scotsman Club and Annual Fund internship
PC’s Advancement Office

I work with Hannah Smith, the annual fund director, on Scotsman Club and Annual Fund giving. I focus mainly on parents by explaining to them the importance of giving.

During my internship I’ve done just about everything from making phone calls during phone-a-thons to planning Scotsman Club events. I’ve also come up with information to put in a letter to parents, and I have written content for brochures, mail-outs, and e-mails sent in e-mail blasts to PC Fund and Scotsman Club donors.

The internship will be a big help since I plan to go into pharmaceutical sales. I’ve met really good people—especially well-known alumni. Now, I help promote the college, which will help me in sales. Plus, I’ve learned the importance of setting goals. The internship has been a good experience.
