CSI encompasses much more than the job search. Self-assessment is a vital step in determining one's interests, revealing personality traits, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and in making appropriate decisions. Staff members are available for individual confidential counseling to assist students with academic and social adjustment to college, provide help in determining a major or minor, and career exploration.
Find Out Today:
See what your personality and interests can tell you about choosing a major and choosing a career. Email for details.
Several self-assessment instruments are available to guide students in learning more about their educational and career interests, as well as their personalities. These tests include the Major-Minor Finder, the Strong Vocational Interest Inventory, and the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator. Interpretations of these test results are conducted individually with a career counselor to guide students in applying these results to academic and career decisions.
Administration of these instruments is free to PC students and are by appointment.
Career Development Path
It is never too early or too late to chart your path. The following outline will help you prioritize steps to take. Whether you are in your first year at PC or your last, CSI will help you create your plan.
- First Year: Self Assessment
- Second Year: Explore Interests
