Blue Dot Sticker System

Memorable Traditions

BLUE DOT STICKER SYSTEM

The Blue Dot Sticker System is designed to support all students who desire to take advantage of the various social events and opportunities sponsored at the Fraternity Court. A Blue Dot is a sticker to be placed on students' ID cards that may be purchased from the Office of Student Activities and Greek Life at any time during the fall or spring semesters, though costs cannot be divided among semesters. Purchasing the sticker will place that student's name on a master guest list for all registered social events held at the Fraternity Court according to the limitations set forth below. The annual cost of a Blue Dot differs among classifications of students: a Blue Dot for the entire 2007-2008 academic year costs $40.00 for non-Greeks, $20.00 for Greek females, and $10.00 for Greek males.

The Blue Dot Sticker System creates a master guest list for registered social events held at the fraternity court and helps to fund: (1) private security guards for any event at the Fraternity Court with over 75 people, (2) risk management education and crisis training programs for students who will be in attendance at Fraternity Court events, (3) the cost of "unassignable" damages at the Fraternity Court, and (4) a special social event not sponsored by a Greek letter organization that is open to all those students with a "Blue Dot".

The policies and procedures relating to the Blue Dot Sticker System are listed below:

A. At the beginning of the year, a student will pay the appropriate cost and receive a Blue Dot sticker on his/her ID card from the Office of Student Activities and Greek Life..

B. This sticker will allow the student access to any "registered" event at the Fraternity Court that is not designated as a "members and dates only" function.

C. Organizations have the option to exclude individuals from their houses who have purchased a Blue Dot with "good cause." Organizations who wish to exclude a member of the PC community from their fraternity house must have such action approved by the Office of Greek Life, and the student will be informed of the situation. As always, Greek houses have the authority to exclude any individual from their house who is causing or has caused a disturbance.

D. Guests of PC students will not be required to purchase a Blue Dot, but they must be accompanied by an individual with a sticker at all times while at Fraternity Court.

E. Members of individual Greek houses do not need a Blue Dot to attend functions at their own house, but they would need the sticker to attend a registered event at another house.

F. It will be the responsibility of individual Greek-letter organizations to enforce the policy; college staff and security guards, however, will also have the authority to check for stickers and report violations to the Office of Greek Life.

G. Students caught at Fraternity Court without a sticker will receive a $50.00 fine for the first offense, and a second offense could result in prohibition from the Fraternity Court area, as well as another fine.  Fines are mandatory and will be collected by the Office of Greek Life; students who fail to pay fines on time may be assessed additional fines or community service hours.
