Renee Ballew, Class of 2010, Business Administration Major, Location Drum Creative, Greenville, SC

As part of my internship, I did research on competitors for clients, designed possible logo ideas for clients, worked on RFQ proposals, worked in photoshop and illustrator, created surveys for focus groups, summarized data from focus groups and research.
What I learned: about the printing process, about the field of marketing and research in general, i learned about the graphic design of logos and what goes into the thought process, I learned how important researching competition is to the marketing field
All of the various skills I learned during this internship will not only help me in any job I get, but they will also be useful in everyday life. One of the most important skills I learned was to take the initiative in anything that I try. Taking the initiative will allow you succeed and further yourself in both your career and life.
The best advice I can give to anyone who is interested in obtaining an internship is to pick a field that you believe you are passionate about, don't just pick the first thing available just because it's a requirement to graduate. If you pick something that you are passionate about it really allows you to open up and enjoy everything that you are learning and it makes the whole process a very worthy experience.
