Study Christian Education at PC

Small classes provide an ideal setting to discuss religion and philosophy with your fellow classmates and professors. Many times, professors are happy to continue the discussion after class. In addition, the Religion and Philosophy Department offers several other programs to make your education well-rounded and comprehensive.

Organizations

A church-related college, PC offers groups and ministries that invite you to share, deepen, or explore your faith. Blue Fish, PSA, FCA, Student Volunteer Services, Campus Crusade for Christ, and the Canterbury Club are just a sample of the twenty-plus religious organizations you can become a part of.

Internships

Each PC student is required to complete an internship or intercultural experience before graduation. But rather than merely being something you must do, internships allow you to build a resume while you're still in college. Many religion and Christian education majors have interned in youth ministries and camps at various churches.

Study Abroad

The study abroad program at PC provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to become immersed in other cultures. In fact, it is recommended that you spend time abroad. You have several options.

Exchange programs exist between PC and universities in Japan, China, India, Korea, Finland, Germany, Australia, England, and Scotland, among others.

PC is also a cooperating institution with Central College in Iowa, which maintains semester and junior year programs in France, Spain, Germany and Austria, and Mexico.

Independent Research

The PC Summer Fellows (PCSF) Program will enhance your academic experience by providing you with opportunities to work with faculty during the summer. You'll gain research experience working with faculty mentors. You'll find that you enjoy the process of research as a creative intellectual activity in a living-learning environment.
