The Confucius Institute was finally able to get back on schedule with Chinese Corners that the snow days complicated. Last Thursday, March 27th, 2014, was karaoke night at Chinese Corner. The night consisted of going over famous traditional Chinese songs, learning the lyrics, and then singing along. The three songs featured that night were: “The Moon Represents my Heart”,” Let Love Live in my Family”, and “Friends”. CI staff assisted in going over the lyrics of each and translating them so the students could understand the song as well. Then everyone practiced singing it together, and then the students sung along to the song itself. The participation was phenomenal, and even those who weren’t comfortable singing at first were soon singing along with everyone. It was a fun and exciting Chinese Corner that we hope to do again!
