Last Thursday, March 20th, 2014, the CI staff and students gathered in the CIH International House kitchen to make tong yuan, or sticky rice balls!
The kitchen was arranged into different stations that the students took over after the directions were explained by the CI staff. There were folding and rolling stations to roll the sticky rice and then a filling area where students could put the filling in the balls; preparing them for the oven.
Once they were finished everyone was able to enjoy the fruits of their labor. They were delicious, and for many students the first time they have ever had them. It was a fun and delicious way to celebrate Chinese culture!
