Mrs. Bouknight received her B.A. in history from The University of Tennessee with teaching endorsements in geography, political science, economics, and sociology.  Her master’s degree, also from UT,  is in curriculum and instruction.  Currently, she is ABD (all but dissertation) at UT and will graduate in May of 2014.  Mrs. Bouknight’s Ph.D. will be in education with a focus on literacy studies.  Her dissertation examines the types of books 5th graders choose for independent reading and the text complexity of the books they choose.

Mrs. Bouknight and her husband, Michael, have recently moved to the Upstate.  Michael works in project controls for a local engineering company.  Their kids are of the furry variety.  Murphy is a Chow/Scottish Terrier mix; Maisie is a West Highland Terrier; and their newest family member is Kona.  She was born in April and is an English Chocolate Labrador.  Mrs. Bouknight and her husband enjoy reading, traveling, and cooking.
