Sigma Tau Delta members inducted

Seventeen new members were inducted into Sigma Tau Delta during the English Honor Society’s annual induction ceremony in the spring semester.

The new members include

Sigma Tau Delta members participate in a number of activities, such as helping the Writing Center Director and English faculty lead a writing workshop for CHAMPS students each fall, assisting the English faculty in fielding questions from prospective PC students during visitation days, and sponsoring book discussions each semester that are open to the campus community.

The stated mission of Sigma Tau Delta is to

  • confer distinction for high achievement in English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies;
  • provide, through its local chapters, cultural stimulation on college campuses and promote interest in literature and the English language in surrounding communities;
  • foster all aspects of the discipline of English, including literature, language, and writing;
  • promote exemplary character and good fellowship among its members;
  • exhibit high standards of academic excellence;
  • and serve society by fostering literacy.
