I am the newest of the history faculty at PC, joining the department in the summer of 2010 to fill the vacancy created by Dr. Gustafson’s appointment as interim provost. I come to the college having earned by B.A. at Southwestern University, my M.A. at the University of Wyoming, and my Ph.D. at Indiana University.
My areas of interest are American Indian, American environmental, and comparative frontier history. My current research project studies the formation of American Indian ethnicities in the Mississippi Valley before and after the Columbian encounter. Prior to coming to PC, I taught at Hendrix College in Arkansas and Denison University in Ohio.
