Working collaboratively with the campus community, the Office of Career Services & Internships focuses on helping students gain skills in career planning and decision-making. The position of Assistant Director of Career Development will work with students from freshman through senior year, with emphasis on career exploration of freshman and sophomore students.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree in Student Development strongly preferred. 2-3 years of experience in higher education student development, student counseling, staff development, placement services or related profession.
Successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal, communication (writing, speaking, presenting), organization and time management skills, effectively work individually and collaboratively with students/faculty/staff and employers.
Evening and weekend hours occasionally required.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Career Services & Internships, the Assistant Director will advise students individually and in groups to provide vocational planning, career decision-making and job search assistance for post graduate careers and/or graduate/professional schools. The Assistant Director will create and lead or facilitate workshops and programs/events for students regardless of major or vocational interest using a variety of delivery methods.

Presbyterian College is seeking to fill the position of College Switchboard/Receptionist.
The successful candidate would be responsible for receiving and directing calls, taking messages, greeting the public, ordering supplies and training student workers. Requires excellent telephone demeanor and the ability to interact effectively with both internal and external groups and individuals. Strong verbal skills are required. Presbyterian College has received approval from its Board of Trustees to begin a School of Pharmacy, and is now ready to develop a doctor of pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program under the direction of a Founding Dean. This is an excellent opportunity to craft a teaching-intensive school of pharmacy strongly connected to the College’s mission of providing education within a community of learning, intellectual freedom, honor, service, and faith. The projected school of pharmacy will incorporate a particular focus on public service and biomedical ethics in the context of pharmacy practice. It is expected that an inaugural class of 75 students will enroll in the Fall Term of 2010. The Dean of the School of Pharmacy will report to the President.
Initial responsibilities will include: leading the ACPE accreditation process, beginning with application for precandidate status; designing a practice-oriented curriculum; recruitment of a leadership team and faculty; overseeing renovations and construction of facilities for the pharmacy program; fund-raising; and establishing collaborative relationships, including sites for experiential placements, within the health care community of the Upstate region of South Carolina and beyond.

Department: Southeastern Center for Intercultural Studies
Presbyterian College invites applications for the position of Director of International Programs. The duties include promoting study abroad programs; advising students on study abroad opportunities; conducting orientation and re-entry programs for students; understanding legal, liability and visa issues; assessing student abroad programs and experiences; and developing new student abroad opportunities. The Director will also be responsible for advising international students regarding academic, cross-cultural adjustment, and visa issues. The Director serves on the International Studies Committee, manages the study-abroad budget, and supervises a full-time study-abroad intern. Good oral and written communication skills are essential. A masters degree in international education (or related field) and experience with international students and study abroad are preferred.
