Associate/Assistant for Academic Affairs within the School of Pharmacy

The Associate/Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs develops policies and procedures affecting the overall conduct of faculty and students within the professional program. He/she is responsible for three essential areas: development of a strong professional academic program in pharmacy; developing and overseeing a program of faculty development; establishment of a system of programmatic assessment to assure program quality.


Assistant Dean for Professional and Student Affairs within the School of Pharmacy

The Assistant Dean for Professional and Student Affairs champions the development of a professional culture within the school of pharmacy. Serving as an advocate for the professional value system in pharmacy, the Assistant Dean will facilitate an agenda of activism and community outreach. The Assistant Dean's role in student life includes admissions, professional counseling, career planning, and student advising. Chairs will be responsible for faculty recruitment and retention, faculty evaluations, budgetary preparation, and providing vision and mentorship in the areas of teaching, scholarship and service within their departments.
Chair of Pharmacy Practice

This department will consist of approximately 16 faculty and 4 residents. Responsibilities include clinical services development, oversight of experiential education in conjunction with experiential staff, residency program development, and teaching in area of expertise. Additionally, interest and experience in rural community pharmacy, community outreach and activism are necessary. Applications are requested from all qualified individuals with a Pharm. D. and residency/fellowship experience.


Chair of Pharmaceutical Sciences

This department will consist of approximately 10 faculty in the areas of biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, and social and administrative sciences. Responsibilities include the encouragement of active participation by faculty members in learned societies, research activities, and grantsmanship opportunities. Applications are requested from all qualified individuals with an earned doctorate in any of the pharmaceutical sciences.

Presbyterian College is a small private university located in Clinton, South Carolina, a community located in the upstate region. The college has a rich history of liberal arts education. The School of Pharmacy will be housed in a state-of-the-art facility and will enroll an inaugural class of approximately 75 Doctor of Pharmacy students in the fall of 2010.

Director of Experiential Education

The Director will be responsible for preceptor and experiential site recruitment and retention, preceptor development and evaluations, coordination of student placements, budgetary preparation, and providing vision and mentorship in the areas of experiential education. Additionally, the Director will serve as a key interface between the School and the practice community.
