Every faculty member and most staff members are provided either a desktop or a laptop computer, pre-loaded with a current version of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) and configured for access to our intranet and the Internet. Macintosh (9.2 or 10.x) and Windows (98, 2000, or XP) computers are fully supported.
New or replacement computers or upgrades should be requested through the department chair to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, who will compile such requests and forward them to the IT office. Most computer replacements occur in the mid or late summer, just before the beginning of the academic year. Ordinarily, computers are not to be purchased with departmental funds.
