Carol International House

Carol International House (CIH) engages the Presbyterian College Community in experiencing, understanding, and celebrating world cultures. This intentional living-learning community brings together people from all parts of the world to learn from each other, make friends, have some fun, and create programs that enrich the house and the college community. We encourage all students–American and international–to apply for this unique opportunity.

Student Testimonials

“I chose to live in CIH and have an international roommate because I wanted to continue my experience with the world outside of South Carolina and the U.S. While I was living in Germany, I had a lot of friends from all over the world: Ireland, France, Turkey, Australia, Poland, and Jordan. Getting to hear everyone’s story-–how they live, what they enjoy, what their cultures are like–-really opens your eyes to how much we all have in common. To me, that is one of the most real and enjoyable experiences, and it was something I wanted to carry on throughout my final year at PC.”

–Luke Thomas, American PC Student

“To live in CIH is an amazing experience. We have the opportunity to discover a multicultural world from other international students. We also have the chance to share great moments with American students and their friends and family; this is the best way to immerse in their culture and have a real American experience. I am very grateful for all the good moments I have had with my CIH family. I strongly recommend living in CIH. Indeed it has been a great experience for me that opened my mind and bolstered my international vision.”

– Esther Lopez, Mexican International Student from Universite Paul-Valery Montpellier III, France
