PC is the perfect place to discover this distinctive part of the United States. This fall (2014) we are proud to introduce our new program: the Southern Immersion Program (SIP). SIP is an exciting program that not only specializes in improving students’ English skills, but also provides plentiful opportunities for students to explore, understand, and fully experience the culture of the American South through carefully selected courses and unique travel experiences.
To apply students must:
-be currently enrolled in an undergraduate institution.
-submit their official school transcript as well
-submit TOEFL or IELTS results
-Required scores: TOEFL: 480, iBT: 54-55, IELTS: 5.5
SIP provides three “core classes” only offered to SIP students: Introduction to the American South, English 105 (English as Second Language), and Introduction to American Business. Students will also be able to choose one or two classes out of 5 or 6 elective courses. These elective courses may include film studies, bio-imagery, English composition, business, media studies, and more. The elective course selection is not yet finalized.
For the elective courses, SIP students will enroll with Presbyterian College students, providing an excellent opportunity for international students to meet new people and truly experience life as a college student in the American South.
